Halifax Monument for Fallen Peace Officers

This four-metre-tall concrete arch is Nova Scotia's first monumentdedicated to peace officers killed in the line of duty. The legs of the archare made of 70mm thick white Litracon blocks and they can be lit from within.

"Both of the columns are loaded with glass fibre … so light comesfrom the inside out to talk about how the peace officers are actually fragilehumanity," said architect Adam Collins. "So the material took it from the traditional into the modern."
